RYDER - CEO

Ryder is a Belgian Malinois, responsible for managing the day to day operations of Grand Rapids K9. He makes executive decisions such as what dog food to eat, how many treats he gets, and where he goes potty. If you have any dog aggression / reactivity problems, chances are Ryder will help fix that.

JASON - OWNER/TRAINER

Jason has been training dogs professionally since 2015. Jason is a former former on-call Fire Fighter with the City of Grandville. He has worked and trained over 1000+ dogs of all different breeds, but has most of his experience with higher drive breeds such as the German Shepherd and Belgian Malinois.

He graduated with a B.A degree in Criminal Justice from Grand Valley State University in 2012.

He was a canine consultant and actor/decoy for the Hollywood movie “The Russian Bride” involving a working German Shepherd biting multiple suspects/actors.

He believes in continuing education and has participated with other industry leaders to stay educated. Most recently in September 2019, he attended Magnum K9’s Decoy Class for Law Enforcement K9 in Baldwin MI. In June 2019, he attended High Risk Deployments K9’s “Intro to Scenario Based Training” in Flint MI to further his understanding of training Police K9’s. He also holds a Trikos K9 “Foundations” Certificate and is currently working on completely more courses.
